1] what specifically is the purpose of heisler's photographs? is it simply vanity-driven or does it perform a deeper function?
Answer] the purpose of heisler's photographs is to make you day see real life instead of staying in your own world to look beyond that. its definatlly not vanity-driven... its just real every life. just because some where in magazines and such doesnt mean the photos where fake or glamorized.
2] as many of heisler's photos are made for specific stories or magazine covers they have a specific look, but are they fundementally different from gordon parks' "american gothic"?
Answer] No Heisler's photos are not that different from gordon parks' "american gothic" photos. they both capture what is going on in the world and what it really is weather its america or somewhere elce. it captures the moment.

1] this photo shows one man standing at the top of a city skyline. it shows or apears that he is at the top of the world or has more of something the rest of us dont.

1. in the photograph you notice the broom, mop, American flag, her dress is dirty and you could describe it as a granny dress, her hair is ratty and tied back, she is wearing glasses, and the expression on her face is not very happy.2. the photo is showing another side to American life. the photo suggests that she is unhappy and stuck with being a janetor the rest of her life because she is a black woman. it appears that the American life is not as great as it seems. its not equal rights.
3. in comparison to grant woods "american gothic" they are generaly the same exact pose. both have unhappy faces, both stiff poeses, both holding and object of there jobs. and both a symbol of american life. grant woods photo has the pitch fork and he creates crops and the gordon parks photo that is shown she is holding a broom and a mop. she cleans up after everyone. it could show a kind of ranking system of society.
4. grant woods photo has the pitch fork and he creates crops and the gordon parks photo that is shown she is holding a broom and a mop. she cleans up after everyone. it could show a kind of ranking system of society. and proves that america is not the land of the free and equal rights for all.
5. this was most definatly a sucsessful photograph
